General Position Summary:
This position will be responsible for developing, leading, and executing processes for the testing and quality assurance of all software applications developed at Flight Explorer. Candidate must possess both a professional attitude and appearance, be a self-starter, and manage using a “hands on” approach. Primarily responsible for completing thorough testing and evaluation of all software prior to release and approving final release dates. This role will require internal collaboration between departments such as software development, R&D, sales/marketing, technical publications, customer support, and operations. Plans, organizes, directs, and controls the activities and resources within the Q/A life cycle of each release and keeps his/her supervisor apprised of status.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
| • | Write, approve and execute test plans, test cases, test scenarios, and testing methodologies to constantly improve software quality. |
| • | Organize, prioritize, and assigns the Q/A activities and guarantee the products are released on time. |
| • | Provide risk assessment, test schedule, test results, and test reports. |
| • | Develop, update and execute test scripts for each new release and regression testing. |
| • | Discover, document and verify fixes to software defects. |
| • | Maintain a Q/A lab environment with various operating systems and configurations. |
| • | Automate testing scenarios when able to increase efficiency. |
| • | Manage remote Q/A test staff in addition to staff in Linwood, NJ. |
| • | Interact directly with field and support personnel to verify reported bugs, and interface with software developers on a continual basis to resolution. |
| • | Troubleshoot problems discovered in terms of cause and effect. |
| • | Clearly and concisely document bugs in a database. |
| • | Track all minutiae involved in testing. |
| • | Explain test findings in daily interaction with other involved departments. |
| • | Justify budgeting for, identify and manage additional resources as required to achieve assigned goals and timelines concurrent to scheduled software release dates. |

Minimum Qualifications:
| • | Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent required. |
| • | Eight to ten years of software testing and quality assurance experience in a commercial product development environment based on PC/Windows technology. |
